Human Security Promoted to the World’s Tech Leaders, Brands and Consumers

The Human Security For All (HS4A) campaign, implemented by The World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS), set out in early 2023 to promote the human security approach among networks of people and organizations that play a vital role in adopting new ideas and translating them into action. The campaign engaged more than 20 organizations around the world to promote the concept of human security in business, technology, film, education, policy-making, the media, and academia.

A partnership with The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world’s largest tech event, was by far the most impactful in its reach and influence, with 135,000 attendees from 150 countries. Below are some of the highlights from our collaboration with CES:

Global Tech Brands Engage With Human Security Message at CES2023 and CES2024

For the second year running, the HS4A theme was a central theme of CES2024, and the campaign branding and messaging were found at every event, public space, and keynote. The concept of human security was mentioned by notable CEOs in keynote speeches, panel discussions, and press releases.

Technology Announced as the Eighth Pillar of Human Security at the United Nations

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced on 18 September, 2024, that technology is now an new eighth pillar of the Human Security for All (HS4A) campaign. The announcement took place at an event at the United Nations, co-hosted by CTA, The World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) and the UN Trust Fund for Human Security during the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
